The Influence of Thyroid Hormones on Levels of Lipid Profile and Adipokine in Iraqi Women with Thyroid Disorders

Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism are prevalent endocrine diseases.These have significant implications for lipid synthesis, mobilization, metabolism. Retinol-binding protein 4 is a new adipokine implicated in some physiological pathological processes, such as metabolic disorders. Its elevation aids the diagnosis of thyroid problems. The present study includes 60 women with diseases; 30 them hypothyroidism hyperthyroidism. This 20 healthy control group. For each participant anthropometric, biochemical Thyroid-stimulating hormone, triiodothyronine, Thyroxine, profile, retinol binding protein-4 measured. results show that hypothyroid significantly higher levels total cholesterol, triglycerides, lowdensity lipoprotein cholesterol compared to hyperthyroid or serum low-density lower In addition, there no differences blood high-density concentrations among three groups.
